Marian Keyes, one of Ireland’s best-selling novelists of all time, is generously offering a 4-week free course on the basics of writing a new novel. Marian will present her free course via Instagram and YouTube. The first of four weekly lessons will be presented via Instagram Live – @Marian_Keyes – from Monday, 11 January at 7.30pm (GMT). Once the first lesson has been recorded via Instagram, the presentation will be uploaded shortly afterwards to YouTube. The links to both social media platforms are below.
Marian has requested all those interested to send their plot-related questions via her Instagram feed. Marian will also cover content such as writing routines and the all-important factors of ‘motivation’, ‘self-doubt’ and ‘The Fear’. The first week (commencing Monday, 11th January) will be structured around Getting Started, Research, Plot and Motivation.
Within three hours of Marian posting her course on Instagram on Friday, 8 January, there were already 622 comments and 5662 likes from budding authors wanting to tune in and learn. Interest was expressed from all around the world with comments from New Zealand, Australia and South Africa with an abundance of questions presented for Marian to answer.
Marian stated on her Instagram post “Life is Gruelling right now, so would you like a distraction?”, this gesture of goodwill will provide an escape for those wishing to engage in a productive and enjoyable event away from the current worldwide troubles.
