Biography

Beatie Edney was born in 1962 in London, England, the daughter of actress Sylvia Syms and her husband Alan Edney. She made her first public appearance in 1970. as Winnie in A Day at the Beach, with Peter Sellers, directed by Roman Polanski.

Her big break was the role of Heather Macleod in the 1986 film Highlander, returning to the role in 2000 for Highlander:Endgame.

She has appeared in many British television crime dramas including Rosemary and Thyme, A Touch of Frost, Prime Suspect, Inspector Morse/Lewis, Agatha Christie’s Poirot and Wallander.

She played the leading role of Prudie in the BBCs revival of Poldark (2015).
