Helen Lederer, an avid diarist and writing her first play at the tender age of 10, were factors that built the foundations for life as a much-loved and respected British comedian that all began in The Comedy Store in London. Stand-up comedian, actress, author, commissioned writer for BBC Radio, a regular panelist on television & radio and appearances on social media platforms – and now award creator for ‘Comedy Women in Print’ – a wonderful collection of accolades!
Helen decided to create the comedy award to recognise and promote the creative women behind this area of talent. The prize inspires women who write funny and witty novels to enter the competition for generous prizes, and much deserved recognition for the overall winners.
The competition is open to Published Women Authors and Unpublished Women Authors. If you are already a published author and wish to enter the competition your book needs to be published between 2nd March 2020 and 12th April 2021 to make it eligible for CWIP 2021
This year’s judges include Joanne Harris, Steph McGovern, Nina Stibbe, Thanyia Moore and Gloria Hunniford. Marian Keyes is the Award’s patron and Harper Collins publishes the winner!
